General

Seychelles enjoys a warm and humid climate with average temperatures between 25-32°C. The temperature remains warm throughout the year and humidity levels are consistently between 75-95%. On average, the highest rainfall periods are from December to March and the lowest, May to September. The sea temperature remains warm most of the year, 27-28°C during summer and 23-24°C during winter.

Creole is the most commonly used language in the Seychelles however French and English are generally equally well understood and spoken. The Seychellois people, from Asian, African and Indian roots, have a unique culture that is typically the Seychelles. Relaxed and social in nature, the Seychellois believe life is to be enjoyed and weekends are spent in the company of family and friends with plenty to eat and drink.

There are no major health threats in Seychelles (such as malaria) as sanitary conditions tend to be good. The water is drinkable on the main islands although, should you prefer, bottled spring water is also available. Whilst not a necessity, insect repellent is useful should you be walking though tropical forests or be on beaches where there may be sandflies.
